The David Brower Center was poised to open its doors as a hub for environmental and justice nonprofits in one of the greenest buildings in the Bay Area. Hairpin joined the Brower's Center's team to prepare for the launch.

Hairpin started with a message design process that defined the center's top audiences, honed its identity and produced a tagline - "What Inspires You" - that conveyed its deeper purpose.

From this foundation, Hairpin created email newsletters and an elegant, simple-to-update Web site. Then, we designed a series of print collateral pieces to build excitement and donations leading up to the grand opening: invitations, Open House poster for storefronts, informational postcards, letterhead, business cards and more.

Hairpin also handled the media push, resulting in on-message coverage in the region's major dailies, local television news, business press and influential green tech blogs. The Brower Center was forced to turn away guests to its grant opening bash due to demand, and quickly filled every available office space for rent to local nonprofits.
